Helsinki-based rapper JAG has been active on the hip hop scene for over 15 years. From opening slots for rap legends Ice Cube, Apollo Brown & Skyzoo and Looptroop, collaborating with artists and producers from Sweden and France to the US, to rocking shows around his native Finland and several European countries, JAG has kept spreading his signature no-holds-barred style of lyricism to hip hop heads far and wide.
With such notable appearances under his belt and a growing following, JAG has kept climbing the ladder album by album. So Far No Good (2012), Detention (2014), More Of The Same (2017) and Shop Talk EP (2019) are all predominantly boom bap oriented and punchline heavy, while Real Talk EP (2020) lets the listener in a bit closer to the real him, as he tackles various topics close to his heart.
JAG’s latest album in English, Lockdown Sessions, produced in its entirety by Kerberos, was released in June 2022.
2023 was spent working on the upcoming Finnish-language debut album, while releasing 4 singles, 3 of which featured prominent voices on the local scene:
MC Rambo, Kimi Hendrix and Brädi.
Through these releases JAG was set to start off 2024 with a bang, releasing the album, Oikeista Syistä Täällä, January 5th through Rolling Records.
The seasoned artist stays on his grind and vows to keep approaching the rap game art and heart first, unconcerned about trends and waves.
