JAKC

JAKC is an artist, producer & engineer born in Calgary, Canada. Soon after high school, he made a move to Vancouver in the summer of 2019. This transition exposed him to various artists & mentors, shifting how he approaches his music.

JAKC had a love for music & dance from an early age, at the age of 5, he started attending breakdance classes and entering competitions. This exposed him to old-school breakbeats & the world of Hip Hop. Showing up to competitions in all purple, he soon got the name B-Boy Ultra Violet, inspiring his purple aesthetic today. Growing up, his Mom played lots of Pop, Dance & Electronic music. This cross of Pop to Hip-Hop influences JAKC's music today.

Rapper Logic has had a significant impact on JAKC. On the last track of the album, "The Incredible True Story," Alan Watts tells listeners to do what they love. Not wasting any time, JAKC started to experiment at age 15 with DJ & Beat-making programs, then buying his first beat machine in early 2016. He thought of himself as just a producer until he became aware of the urge to write to his beats. He bought his first microphone in 2018.

JAKC wants to provide people with multiple perspectives throughout his discography. He creates various types of music across the spectrum, all the way from introspective tracks to heartbreak & feel-good music. Some of his songs may seem to focus on unforgettable melodies, but behind every melody is a message, something you can use & apply to in your everyday life.
