Singer and guitarist Jake Bracey has been a longtime bar musician. When playing cover after cover to drunken crowds wasn’t feeding the creative flow, a valve opened and original music came forth.
2019 brought the debut EP of Jake Bracey & The Mountain Laurels. A project front by the aforementioned singer along with a rotating cast of friends and collaborators. Created in Everloft Studios in the Philadelphia suburbs, 2019’s Asleep on a Highway was a testament to the band’s signature sound; a boozy, folk-twinged brand of music for lovers of a sad song.
The follow-up, due out in late November of 2021 and titled “Grand Avenue Hymns” has been steadily building buzz within the social circles around Bracey and co.
