London-based songwriter Jake Nicks has been writing and recording music since he was 13 years old. Playing in bands that were inspired by acts like Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol, The Shins, Broken Social Scene, Band of Horses and now as a solo artist drawing on influences from Nick Drake to Neil Young and Bob Dylan. His music has a bittersweet warmth, intimacy and directness that focuses on song craft, melodicism and stripped-back instrumentation.
