Jake Payne, as he calls himself a “multi genre artist” makes all types of different music from hip-hop, grunge, rock, indie, country, psychedelic, punk and those are only naming a few. He constructs his music off other people’s experiences or his own. As well as the many genres he does he also has characters he uses in his music and likes to base them on emotion, the main character of his being “slic” an angry yet confused character who fell in love with someone far away from him. Jake says “i based that character on things I feel and what others do to at certain times, I feel like with this person (slic) a lot of people can relate to him and what he feels”
