Jakeb Reel was born and raised in the backwoods of Old Fort, NC and was steeped in a rich legacy of country, bluegrass, southern gospel and rock n roll traditions. From his early teens, he haunted many of the long shuttered DIY honky tonks and bluegrass jamborees held in the small towns surrounding Mt. Mitchell and the Pisgah National Forest.
He made the trek to Nashville for the first time in 2019 and primarily occupied the role of drummer for <a href="spotify:artist:7Ay4x78WuEiLuZpiHTYV4G" data-name="Chelsea Lovitt">Chelsea Lovitt</a>.
A self-titled EP was released independently on October 27, 2023; produced by <a href="spotify:artist:451zQ9MBfaDR2kTLgPqs2X" data-name="Russ T. Nutz">Russ T. Nutz</a>
