James Digger is a DJ and beatmaker from Brittany, France. After a life-changing experience in New York in the early 2000s, he became deeply immersed in hip-hop. While collaborating with various groups, he crafted his own beats for personal projects, including his debut album BabyTraxx is James Digger (2009), featuring 25 independent American artists. The mixtape sold over 50,000 copies online, and one of the tracks gained regular airplay on American radio shows and Netflix series.
An active composer and arranger, James Digger works with multiple artists and also creates music for radio and TV commercials. In 2020, he paid tribute to boom-bap rap with the release of his first vinyl record, Badaboombap, a limited edition of 200 copies that sold out in just three months. The concept: alternating English and French tracks, featuring top-tier MCs, both well-known and emerging, all united around 90’s rap sounds.
With widespread media coverage, James Digger made a name for himself on the indie rap scene. In 2022, he followed up with Badaboombap Vol.2 (Modulor Records), featuring an even more impressive lineup, including Brooklyn legend Masta Ace, as well as Passi (Ministère Amer), Rockin' Squat (Assassin), Dooz Kawa, Oxmo Puccino, and Souffrance (l’uZine). These collaborations are more than just musical; they’re genuine connections, all driven by a shared passion for hip-hop.
