Oakland, California-based electro-pop duo James & Evander craft sprawling soundscapes from chillwave to dancefloor fare. Adam Myatt and Glenn Jackson met in art school and began playing together in 2007, connecting over a shared love of synthesizers and sound experimentation. They released two EPs under the James & Evander moniker in 2009, June's gentle Awkward Turtle, followed that October by the more kinetic This Isn't the Beginning of Anything. The following fall, James & Evander showed an icier side with the Sunlight & Circuitry EP, and evolved once more in 2011 with their first release featuring vocals, the spacy Constellating EP, which led to their signing with the Velvet Blue Music label. Their debut for Velvet Blue Music, the single Let's Go, arrived in March 2012, followed two months later by their first full-length recording, Bummer Pop. ~ Chrysta Cherrie, Rovi
