Greenville SC based BLUES Guitarist, James Heaton, is the unknown unknown of the Blues World. Playing the Lead Guitar Role for bands like Widow Lake, Contra Blues Band and Existant, James has shaped his sound to a fine edge.
Calling on the spirit of Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, James uses the Blues sound mixed with the melodic playings of Joe Satriani to create his distinctive sound.
Born in Greenville SC, James picked up the guitar at the age of 12. Playing heavily until a hand injury in 1994.
It wasnt until 2004 that he found the fire to jump back into the music scene and he hit it hard. Playing with band after band, and working his solo projects along the way. With the purchase of "Kaylee" in 2004 James found his inspiration. "Kaylee", a 2004 Epiphone Dot Studio, that James was drawn too in a local guitar center, is the primary instrument out of all of James guitars. Even more so than his gift from Billy Duffy, a Gretsch White Falcon Billy Duffy Signature model. James adores the Epiphone and uses her to write and compose all the music.
The first album, Reason to Fall, is a concept album based on a loose story of a fallen angel who falls in love with a human and must cut off his wings to be with her. The album was recorded in a home studio with programmed drums.
The Second album, Thick, is a salute to all the plus size women in the world and adoration toward them. The drummer is Lee Wessinger from the Contra Blues Band.
