James Hudson

British jazz vocalist James Hudson has all of the charming qualities that epitomise the 21st century jazz singer. An assured and captivating performer, his natural affinity to deliver a song is complemented by effortless vocals, tasteful phrasing and interpretive prowess. Fuelled by a desire to play his part in keeping jazz standards alive, James’ obvious passion for these songs shines through in his music.

His debut album TOMORROW was featured as ‘Album of the Week’ on Jazz FM and has received critical acclaim from publications and radio stations across Europe and the United States. A huge milestone in his career so far was recently performing a sell-out show at the world famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.

March 2024 will bring the release of MOONRAY, Hudson's highly anticipated second album. This features a rare lineup that blends strings, horns, rhythm section and vibraphone to create a unique and impressive sound that perfectly compliments his mesmerising vocals. As one of very few artists of his generation producing and recording this style of music, Hudson takes a bold step with this ambitious and compelling new opus.

Hudson is fast becoming one of most sought-after jazz vocalist in the UK. He cites many legendary artists who have influenced him as a jazz singer, including Mel Tormé, Frank Sinatra, George Shearing, Nat King Cole, Sarah Vaughan , Ella Fitzgerald and Oscar Peterson.
