james mpbk is the label manager & founder of UK based techno imprint sequence music.
James’ journey in electronic music started back in 1999 while working as a brand manager for Ministry of Sound in London, before starting his own club night ‘Cargo’ in the UK city of Sheffield. Cargo became synonymous as one of the most forward thinking events in the area, bringing together the best artists & DJs in the world in unique, & often underground, spaces.
Drawing upon decades of knowledge & understanding of the industry - coupled with his talent for branding & design - James launched record label sequence music in 2020.
Having firsthand experience of various roles within the industry has helped shape the ethos of sequence. The label aims to give each artist, & their work, the respect & platform it deserves. Although in its infancy, the label has already gained attention & support from the likes of Tale of Us, Fideles, VNTM & Kevin de Vries.
