James R Johnston is a singer-songwriter from the north of England, now based near Bremen, Germany. After years of writing, recording, and performing — both solo and in bands — his music has taken shape around themes of love, memory, and quiet transformation.
His latest album, Nine, was created over the course of 48 days — a deeply personal collection of songs born from a period of intense emotional change. Rooted in acoustic beginnings but shaped by a broader, atmospheric sound, the album explores the spaces between loss and renewal, solitude and connection. It’s set to be released in September 2025.
