James Shahan has always marched to the beat of his own .wav file. He’s been homeless in New York, opened for the likes of Black Milk and Bus Driver in Las Vegas, and first touched a stage 16 years ago in his home state of California. James has been published as a contributing writer in URB Magazine, featured on VICE.com, and earlier in 2021, appeared on the Mello Music Group compilation album Bushido alongside industry veterans The Alchemist , Quelle Chris , Skyzoo, Joell Ortiz, and more.
After releasing numerous projects and undergoing numerous name changes (formerly going as 'Machine' and then James Shahan), his first completely self-produced album, "Music for Carnivores", will release in February of 2022. Aside from being self-produced, it was mixed, mastered, and recorded by himself as well (in his bedroom and downtown Vegas hotels). Never one to shy away from being vulnerable, James hopes to continue making music that lets those of us struggling know we are never alone.
