We used to be called James Band but a PR company we hired told us we were larger than just a band, so we became James World. (Shortly after we launched a news station called James World News, concluding with the catastrophic failure of James World Financial, an experimental financial performance art group.)
As far as the music, you can expect chiming alt-rock ballads, dense sound collage pieces, ambitiously immersive arrangements, and heart-pumping loud/soft dynamics. Lyrically, Michael, primary songwriter, uses abstraction and metaphor to convey achingly beautiful sentiments “My approach is openness, vulnerability, and transparency—I want to leave everything on the table. That said, we always try to not take ourselves too seriously,” Michael admits.
Currently, James World consists of Michael Madrid, Jake Kile, Eamon Ford, and Rob Norris
