Jan Amit (Yan Pavelchuk) is a Moscow-based music producer who started as an amateur electronic and post rock musician in 2012.
Yan stated his initial craft-music manner in a series of self-released compositions – 'Heal' (2014), 'Sleep To Awake' (2015) and 'Warehouse' (2016). After that, he debuted at Russian-based label Hyperboloid in 2017, with an auto-biographic LP 'Finding Home', built upon a melancholic blending of IDM and post rock.
In parallel, shifting between harmonious ambient figures and rough avant-EDM structures, Jan Amit has created music for a series of immersive sonic installations between 2016 and 2020 in Nikola-Lenivets, Russia, within major local festivals, Signal and Archstoyanie.
Keeping the forefront of post-Soviet experimental electronic music, Jan Amit's music moves away from acoustic timbres to scale avant-guarde synthetic textures, post-beat experience ('BBE', Hyperboloid, 2020) and non-traditional rhythmic patterns in his forthcoming 'études' LP, which is due to be out December 2020.
