Jan Metternich began recording his first songs with a simple mobile recorder. At just 12 years old, he uploaded his debut music video to YouTube, marking the start of his online presence as an artist. With early musical influences from <a href="spotify:artist:6eUKZXaKkcviH0Ku9w2n3V" data-name="Ed Sheeran">Ed Sheeran</a> and later many more artists, he spent every afternoon teaching himself how to record, produce, mix and master music in Garage Band and later Logic Pro. Jan finally released his first single "Whatever They Say" in 2019 after years of never being taken seriously for his music at school. Now, just four years after graduating from High School, the 22 year old artist elevated him from YouTube obscurity to more than 1,600,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. "Dead End" which is completely produced, mixed and mastered by him, is <a href="spotify:artist:1RIO0WcUPQ8HsXH0kdmbzh" data-name="Jan Metternich">Jan Metternich</a>’s biggest single to date with more than 13 million streams on Spotify and rising. After primarily releasing solo singles, Jan recently launched his debut album, Broken Symphonies, which has quickly gone viral, amassing over 50 million streams in its first six months.
