Coming to you from the golden Southern California, born and raised in San Diego, is the singer, songwriter, and creative artist, Janelle Phillips. Listen to any of her songs, and you’ll discover sultry vocals, taking in low and smokey tones, blended with reggae melodies, soul, rhythm and blues. She just takes you to a place you could only dream of as she composes eloquent lyrics, melodies, and harmonies, in her own unique style.
In 2015, she released her debut album, Lioness, which reached #5 on the iTunes Reggae Charts. Her raw acoustic tunes were brought to life by Roots Musician Records, producer, E.N Young.
Lioness has over 300,000 streams on Spotify, and she has performed at many festivals, such as One Love Fest in Long Beach, Desert Oasis in Indio, and Oysterfest in San Diego, opening for headliners like Damian Marley, Rebelution, Steel Pulse, Magic, and many more, along with many tours up the coast of California.
This year, she has announced, after a long-awaited return, a song, from her upcoming EP, Above the Influence, releasing on August 25th, 2023. Singles are said to be flowing on the way, leading up to the grand release of her latest record, Evergreen in December 2023.
Evergreen was concluded in 2018, recorded at The Lab, San Diego. After a hiatus, Janelle has returned with some hidden gems that have been collecting dust, ready to be revealed to the world.
