It’s hard to not fall in love with Jannine Weigel’s (also known under her Thai artist name PLOYCHOMPOO) infectious personality, and it’s apparent from her massive social media following. She currently has 4 million followers on YouTube, in addition to 3.6 million followers on Facebook, 3.3 million on Instagram and more than 2.2 million on TikTok!
Weigel was born in a small town in Germany and spent most of her childhood there. She moved to Thailand when she was 10 years old, and she soon became the first Thai singer to receive a Gold Button from YouTube. Due to popular demand, Weigel released several singles and EPs soon after.
Despite her musical success, Weigel still managed to effortlessly balance her career as a model, actress, influencer, and gamer, too! She credits her love for music and singing as her driving force, and it soon paid off, with her receiving a nomination for the ‘Best Southeast Asia Act’ at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Seville late last year.
