‘Jarrod Ross continues to carve out his place as a fearless songwriter, Ross delivers his signature brooding lyricism with a sound that’s sharp, atmospheric, and impossible to ignore.’
The former guitarist/front man for Auckland rock band Valedictions, and bass player for Flying Nun signed indie-rockers Pan Am, Jarrod’s latest musical endeavour is the first single to drop from a collaboration with guitarist Solomon Cole and his brand new label Hoop-LA Records.
‘Last Desire’ is a raw, unapologetic dive into what we crave & the void waiting on the other side. It’s a song of misaligned expectations & the disconnect between what we want & what we get. Driven by gritty guitar riffs & head kicking drums, the intense vocals of Last Desire hit hard and don’t let up. It’s a song that lives in the tension between longing and reality—powerful, relentless, and impossible to ignore.
Jarrod states, ‘Last Desire is really a collision of shadowy post-punk energy and I guess cinematic rock intensity. It’s a heartbeat-steady rhythm that really pulls you into my crazy world really. I’ve been lucky to be collaborating with friends and really concentrating on putting out a steady stream of quality releases. This feels like the right way to kick off 2025”
Jarrod will be performing live shows nationally and internationally, the release of a new single and cementing his place in the NZ Music landscape for the foreseeable year.
