Jarvix (he/huh?) has been busily carving out a name for his unconventional approach to music since putting his first bedroom album out in 2014. His friendly demeanor and "pop" music inventions have made him a rare cross-section of crowdpleasing and experimental. Legendary local underground journalist Louis Fowler called him "the one guy who isn't doing the same thing everyone else is."
He performs regularly in metropolitan Oklahoma City. From established venues like Opolis and Factory Obscura to oddities like the American Pigeon Museum and Magoo's Attic, his flexible live show has accommodated many stages and environments.
His live shows incorporate multi-instrumental pedal looping for on-the-spot full arrangements that allow one-of-a-kind crowd interaction (audience-sourced time signatures, mobile phone sampling, etc).
Avidly attending local shows, hosting an experimental music showcase called Weirder Wednesday, and running an online local music magazine called Make Oklahoma Weirder have only served to further his reach in the local music community.
Taking cues from artists like Tune-Yards and David Byrne, the former of which he has shared a bill with, he embraces his conscious outsider perspective and loves adding his unique voice to the exciting and growing arts scene of Oklahoma.
