Jaryd Blake

Jaryd Blake is an American “ Rap” Artist from Paterson, New Jersey. He first received recognition as a rapper after releasing music on Spotify that featured one of Raps most beloved artist Mick Jenkins. He gained popularity for his refreshing, very creative writing style; a style that is often coupled with thoughtful, almost always unorthodox arrangements and piercing lyricism, tools he uses to masterfully paint vivid pictures that span any where from 8 minutes to 30 minutes long. His latest exhibition “Connected (Episodes 1 -4)” flaunts a feature from Atlanta’s XXL, The Fader, Complex and Rolling Stones critically acclaimed rapper Grip. The “Don’t Be A Menace”, “New Jack City”, “Boyz in the Hood” inspired effort has quickly become his most popular work to date.


Jaryd’s first memories of music are of him sitting in the back seat of his father's Lincoln Town car listening to Bebe and Cece Winans. He grew up in a Christian home where his parent’s strict religious beliefs did not allow him to openly listen to Hip hop. As a result he would record his favorite hip-hop albums over his parents gospel cassette tapes, ironically the recording he valued most was DMX’s “It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot”. 


Artists that inspire him most are Lauryn Hill, DMX, James Baldwin and Jay-Z
