Jasmin Tabatabai (یاسمین طباطبائی) is a German actress and jazz singer with Iranian roots. In Germany, she became well known with the hit-film Bandits (1997) about a girlband with more than a million admissions in Germany. The record of the soundtrack sold over 700.000 copies.
She is also known for a role in Oscar-nominated The Baader Meinhof Complex and for her voice in the German version of Persepolis. Currently, she has been starring for 9 seasons in the TV Series Letzte Spur Berlin on ZDF. In 2017 she presented the German Film Awards. Her new movies Mitra with dutch-iranian director Kaweh Modiri and Fly with Katja von Garnier are scheduled for release in 2021.
In May 2020 she released her third jazz album Jagd auf Rehe.
