Jason Eli’s music spawns from his love to see people dance and his desire to explore an array of genres that include House, Disco, Jazz, Latin, Afro-Beat, Drum & Bass and beyond. As a child of Caribbean parentage, he spent many weekends with his vibrant extended family, eating spicy west Indian food and watching his older cousins play live funk in their loft. The vibes in that loft inspired Jason to make music his obsession. Since then, he's progressed to become a producer, DJ and musician who’s remixed songs for artists including Whitney Houston & Masters At Work and created music for record labels including Motown, E.M.I. and many more.
Jason had so much fun DJing in his early twenty’s, he almost forgot about music production. Back then, his DJ adventures included a four year Saturday residency at London’s Ministry of Sound. He toured with and learned from some amazing DJ's, including Studio 54 DJ Kenny Carpenter, Norman Jay MBE, DJ Harvey, Roger Sanchez and many more.
A move to New Zealand re-ignited his love for writing and producing. The relaxed vibes of Auckland city became home to his Groovadelica record label, and the catalyst for a slew of soulful music releases, featuring singers & musicians including Nathan Haines, Sharlene Hector & Kevin Mark Trail
Now back based in England, Jason Eli is more prolific than ever. Get ready to be taken on a funky strut through London nightlife, New York Disco and Latin grooves.
