You probably found him through a song. Most people do. One arrives at three in the morning, another on a long drive, another in a kitchen after everyone else has gone to sleep, and suddenly there's a back catalogue to work through.
Jason Kearney is a Sydney songwriter with a habit of disappearing into the work and coming back with something you weren't expecting. Warm one week, dark the next, never the same shape twice. Some songs land softly. Some don't. The thread that ties them together isn't a sound, it's a sensibility, the same set of instincts about what's worth saying and what isn't.
Two decades of late hours, places most people don't go, and quiet rooms sit behind it all. New music every four to six weeks.
