During his summers and sabbatical breaks from life as a college professor, Jason Marsh writes songs and plays guitar for the Jason Marsh Band. The band's debut album "Try" was released in 2016 and was a guitar-driven blend of rock, blues, country, and even some Spanish-classical. This album also featured some of Marsh's favorite singers and musicians from the United States and Canada (including present or past members of 'The Tea Party' 'Big Sugar', 'Last Call', 'A.D.', and 'Michael Joseph Green.').
In 2020, Marsh released his second album "Stubborn Attachments to Time Pt. 1", which tackles the wonders of childhood, the fear of approaching midlife, the limits of regret, and other themes related to the passage of time. With new and previously featured singers, this album continues Marsh's tradition of having either lots of guests and friends or just a really big band, depending on your point of view. The first single "How Long?" featured Minneapolis' Chris Koza.
On July 29, 2022, the JMB will release "Southern Tales" a grouping of (mostly) blues-rock tunes that (mostly) have southern themes or stories. This album contains some new guest musicians, including Jason's twin brother, Jon Marsh, and their very favorite southern guitar hero, Brent Mason. Some new guest vocalists include Jen Knight (Ghost Town Blues/Avoid the Devil), and Richard Farrell (Still Rising, Desert Highway, Let it Go). Limelight and Feeling Good are happy pop additions!
