USA TODAY once called Jason Ringenberg "Nashville's greatest 20th Century rock n roll frontman." Born and raised on an Illinois hog farm that bordered the Rock Island Line Railroad, he left for Nashville on July 4, 1981. He immediately formed Jason and the Scorchers and never looked back. Throughout the '80s and '90s, they became known as one of the most exciting live bands of their era, citing Rolling Stone to say that they “single-handedly rewrote the history of American rock ‘n roll in the South”. In 2008 they were awarded the Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance.

Never one to rest on his laurels, in the 2000s the “Godfather of Americana” (MOJO) went solo. To date, he has released seven Jason Ringenberg solo albums, with everyone from the BBC to ROLLING STONE lauding the scope and depth of his songwriting. His high octane one-man show prompted THE TIMES (UK) to call him “one of the most exciting performers of his generation.” Somehow during all that full throttle activity he found time to create the children’s music character Farmer Jason as a gift to his young daughters. That "gift" ended up winning an Emmy Award...

His two newest albums STAND TALL (2019) and RHINESTONED (2021) were written while he was ARTIST IN RESIDENCE at the Sequoia National Park. It is not hard to imagine Ringenberg hiking those mountains writing songs that would collide with peoples' souls. His restless creative spirit will not be stilled.
