Raised in the mountains of Northwest Georgia (at least what southerners consider mountains) where he now resides with his family, singer-songwriter Jay Brooks was later than most to releasing music. Due to a unique combination of maturity and lust, he married early in these godforsaken hills and began rearing children to work the land. Albeit unassuming, don’t let his cargo shorts fool you. Jay possesses a richness reminiscent of early Neil young and the sultry passion of Barry White if he was a tenor. For these reasons, he briefly considered releasing music under pseudonym Barry Young.
