Jay Coop is a young and upcoming rapper from Waterbury, Connecticut. Jay Coop's music is an eclectic mixture of his life growing up on the streets, live party music and songs for the ladies. Jay began writing music when he was only eight years old, inspired by his older brother, members of the Gully Gang Movement, and Dodat Productions. After being fed up with his friends always talking about making music but never perusing the endeavor, Jay Coop decided to take matters into his own hands and write and put out a mixtape. In 2010, Jay Coop became more serious about his music and made the decision to promote himself as an independent artist. His decision paid off in early 2011 when he put out his first mixtape titled “Moving Target,” at the young age of 17.
In 2011, Jay recruited the lyrical talents of friends and fellow Waterbury rappers Fabe Flacko and B Fresh forming Bro Gang Entertainment to collaborate on one of his most successful song to date, “Havic.”
