Jay Kelker is a vocalist, worship leader, songwriter, producer and owner of Jam Factory Recording in Wadsworth, Ohio.
Growing up, music was a big part of his family so his love for music began at a young age. After participating in many musical groups in high school, and singing in the church choir, Jay attended the University of Akron, where he met his wife, Cathy, and graduated with a Bachelors in Music Education.
Jay and Cathy started ministering through music in 1988 and wrote and released their first recording project, Touch the World, in 1994. In 1997, Jay performed with the Akron Symphony Orchestra and Chorus as a guest soloist in Grammy-nominated composer Billy Child’s debut performance of “Just Like Job”. Later that year, the couple released their second recording project The Body. Jay traveled to Nashville to record his third project, True, in 2005. The experience gave him the desire to build his own recording studio, Jam Factory, in 2006. Jay provides vocal training and recording services for bands, and for performers, from all across the country.
Jay’s latest project, As He Lay, was done at Jam Factory with members of his family and friends from the area.
