Jay Sapphire

Jay Sapphire, born Josiah Manuel Cosme on September 3, 2002, in Boston, Massachusetts, has gained recognition for his blend of Afro-Swing, Dancehall, R&B, Rap, & Hip-Hop. His Afro-Caribbean roots—an Antiguan mother & Puerto Rican father—shape his distinct sound. Raised in Brockton, MA, Jay's diverse & unique environment in his early life & throughout his teenage years fueled his creative spirit.

By 12, he was exploring music production with FL Studio 11, & at 14 years old, he produced for the Emmy-nominated *Out of Bounds* documentary, highlighting his early talent. His dedication to his craft led him to buy his first microphone, teaching himself to sing & rap, & throughout the next few years he would spends hours daily writing his own music, producing his own beats, & learning how to mix, master, & record himself in his bedroom. Jay's first ever project: "A loving soul needs to be heard" is a collection of heartfelt songs made throughout his late middle school & early high school days

A move to Florida at 19 years old marked a turning point, symbolizing Jay’s commitment to music and pursuit of new opportunities. His 2nd project "Lost In My Head" which is a collection of hand-picked songs made over the course of 2 years that reflected his inner struggles that ultimately lead him to grow into a completely different person than he was years prior, and shows how much he evolved at his songwriting skills, production, & vocals in such a short time.
