With his latest release “Jaywalking”, Sweden’s undisputed country king Jay Smith opens a new chapter in his career. Once known for songs rooted in darkness and anger, Jay now turns toward joy, love, and the challenges of balancing life on the road with fatherhood. Mixing personal reflection with vivid storytelling and humor, the album draws on Americana and country traditions that celebrate family, community, and everyday life - an honest portrait of an artist who has grown both personally and musically.

Following his acclaimed performance at Melodifestivalen 2024, Jay turned the contest into lasting success with the Top 5 single "Home (Truckstops and Airports)" and a nationwide tour that established him as one of Sweden’s most in-demand live performers. With “jaywalking”, he ties together his journey from bachelor life to fatherhood, showcasing the full spectrum of who he is today.

The album was created with his sister Maria Jane Smith, as well as Jonas Jurström, Alex Kvarnestig, and Canadian artist Adam Wendler, resulting in a sound that is both organic and cinematic - rooted in Americana, folk, and modern country.

Jay’s career began with a bang when he won Idol in 2010. His debut album surpassed 100 million streams, followed by King Of Man (2013) and Young Guns (2019). On September 26, 2025, he releases his fourth album: “jaywalking.”
