Jay Suav was born and raised in Texas. Growing up Desoto, Texas, he got inspired to rap early in life by listening to great hip hop artists of his childhood such as Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane. Even as his passion for hip hop began brewing underneath the surface as youngin, he didn’t begin writing raps until he was 19 years old while he was attending UH in Houston, Texas. One he picked up the pen, he felt within himself that he had the talent to succeed but it took many years before he would begin to pursue rapping as a career.
Music initially started off as a hobby, therapy for coping with the ups and downs of life. Going to the studio became his favorite thing to do. The more he recorded, the more refined he became as an artist. He always sought to improve his craft and make better and better music.
“The feeling making music gives me is a high like no other. I tried to run from music because I never saw myself as a prototypical rapper but ultimately the instrumentals chose me and I surrendered to my destiny. I’ve accepted my journey and now I’m proud to say that I’m all in, ten toes down. I put my soul into every song I release. In my music lies my story, my true self and my unique perspective on life. Please enjoy my catalogue and stay tuned! I got some classics on the way” – Jay Suav
