Julius Brown, better known as “jay.”makes music for the believer who still battles, the sinner who still prays, and the person caught somewhere in between.

Rooted in faith but unafraid of uncomfortable truths, the Florida-raised artist blends introspective lyricism, soulful melodies, and hard-hitting hip-hop to explore the complexities of being human. His music lives in the tension between who we are, who we’ve been, and who God is calling us to become.

Drawing inspiration from the storytelling of J. Cole, the vulnerability of Isaiah Rashad, and the lyrical intricacy of JID, jay. approaches Christian hip-hop with a different perspective. Rather than presenting himself as someone who has everything figured out, he documents the process of figuring it out.
