Singer/Songwriter, JayT is geared to be the reinvention of popular music - Gabriel Williams
Let me introduce you to James Theodore Russell. Better known as Pop/R&B singer and Actor JayT. Born in Washington DC and a Brooklyn native. The third-generation grandson of Liberia’s 10th President Alfred Francis Russell and star of BYUtv #1 original series Relative Race which streams on Amazon Prime and Roku.
JayT hails from a musical family. His mother Hilltop Records songwriter and His sister a background vocalist for Mary J Blige. At the age of 11, JayT entered the music industry and His award-winning performance at the legendary Apollo Theater led him to perform for seven major labels at age 12.
He’s Amassed millions of streams and charted top 2 in the Philippines and India, Top 30 in Mexico and number 53 Globally.
JayT has achieved much success in the acting field with appearances on Law and Order, The Equalizer, Wu Tang Clan American Saga, Sweethearts and The Gilded Age. He served as an opening act for Jesse McCartney, JoJo and PnB Rock and shared stages with R&B veterans like Tamar Braxton.
JayT became the First Liberian American Male Singer to have a Billboard in Time Square in 2021. Gearing up to release a brand new EP “8” which features his signature sound “Stadium R&B” lead by the projects lead single “Fell in Love” written by himself and produced by Robin Wesley. The single has already amassed over 2.7 million streams across all platforms.
