JB SamSon

Every record label is looking for the next diamond in the rough that requires little polishing. If you’re a lump of coal that requires too much time and pressure to develop, there’s always a hungry talent right around the corner. The good news? JB SamSon is as close as it gets to the total package.

He writes, produces, and performs radio-ready songs from his home studio. And like many of the greats, SamSon’s a genre hopper. “You’ll find anything from Prince and Paramore to Moses Sumney and Mac Miller,” he said when asked which artists and bands you’d find in his music library. “I also dig Josh Garrels, J. Cole, Tame Impala, and Tyler, the Creator.” As a result, he touches R&B and rock with as much vigor as hip-hop and gospel.

JB is a laid back yet quick-witted brother, traits you could easily pick up from conversations with him. But projects like Thoughts in Between and Overt Thoughts, Pt. 1 reveal he’s a faith-based family man with a gracious heart. SamSon is one of music’s best-kept secrets, and with the right team behind him, some special things can happen. Better yet, they will happen.
