Born and raised in the city of poverty and very little expectations for the minority (Rochester, NY) J.Clancy, born Joshua L. Clancy emerged from the streets with his love for music and basketball. With a thin line between success and failure he chose to chase success at an early age. Being the only child in the household when mom went to work, music played a big part in keeping him out of trouble. He caught on to his favorite artist/idol at an early age, who was "Jay-Z". Which then gave him that aspiration to take music more serious. With his young entrepreneur mentality him and a childhood friend chose to make a demo and sell it around their middle school. Everything didn't go as planned as far as profit, however that small buzz drew attention which was the starting point for J.Clancy to one day perform his music in front of millions.
