Jeag is the moniker of Dublin based electronic artist and producer James Eager.
What makes this new artist so compelling is an acute ear and attention to detail built from years of recording and producing artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:2zPm4XzwKuPidtfKh92H2Z" data-name="Lankum">Lankum</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0i80gwfdEs2H5YGtm68uwy" data-name="Royal Yellow">Royal Yellow</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5vfSFPrDPPBGExVLldEDOB" data-name="Enemies">Enemies</a>.
‘Finally’ is shaped by the experience of losing almost a years’ worth of songs to a water damaged hard drive. After months of attempting to retrieve the recordings, Jeag found himself beginning the recording process all over again, determined not to let the past get the better of him.
Taking a short-lease in an isolated home in the mountains of Wicklow, the artist spent his time rebuilding past songs from memory while adding new textures and rhythms — creating a more developed version of those lost tracks.
On his last night in solitude Jeag recorded a live, single-take version of what is now known as 'Finally' — a collection of dark electronic pieces bursting with heavy drum beats, tribal vocal samples and beautifully textured synthesisers.
First single “The Breath” will be released September 18th on Tonic.
