Jean Jacquet is not one man. Jean Jacquet are four men who are occasionally joined by a fantastic cast of friends & unique supporting artists when they're out funking the streets.
With their upbeat vibe and eclectic taste, they're down for a bit of everything: from their boogie-inducing funk and pop to their ground-shaking rock to indie rock.
The Brighton based 4-piece band consisting of Frontman Duy Bui, Guitarist Oscar Hall, Bassist Zein Mansour and pianist and drummer Dashiell Raphael are a breath of fresh cinnamon-scented air, with melodies as bright and flavourful as syrup.
All 4 members met whilst at college. Originally Duy, Oscar and Zein emerged in 2022 as ‘Middle Men’, and quickly became the first band in their class to perform their original songs on the stage. Later that year Duy took an interest in the compositional skills and musical drive of fellow student Dashiell Raphael, who later took on the role as the full-time drummer and pianist of (what would now be known as) Jean Jacquet.
Once Jean Jacquet was formed, they racked up some of their original songs to throw out to the town of Brighton, some being the undeniable head boppers ‘Psychopath’, 'Beach Boy' and ‘Day Dream’ the groovy sorrow of ‘Caffeine’ and the heart-melting ballad ‘Cheater Stealer’.
They have performed at some well-known local venues such as The Prince Albert, Komedia, The Worthing Pavilion Theatre, The Factory Live and the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.
