Prolific British DJ the Ruf began his Jeep Beat Collective project in 1994, one of his many aliases alongside Mindbomb and Godfather of Weird. The Jeep Beat project deals in instrumental hip-hop with booming bass and ample, but not overbearing, scratching. Along with many releases for his own Ruf Beats label, Jeep Beat Collective tracks have appeared on mixes from Andy Smith (Portishead), DJ Food, and the turntablist compilation Return of the DJ. ~ Wade Kergan, Rovi
