Jeff Wasserman is an American expat living in Norway, a songwriter, artist, and multi-instrumentalist. His love for music started when he was 11 and learned to play the guitar. During the Vietnam War, he left the US to avoid being drafted and spent 18 months as a street musician in Europe.
Wasserman won a local radio station songwriting contest at 19 and toured with "The 3 Jeffs." He formed "Chicken-Am Good" and "Easy on the Tuba," which won the N.Y. Old Timey Music Contest in 1978. Wasserman then formed the band "Gone At Last," which opened for Emmy Lou Harris, Bill Monroe, The Band among others, and was nominated for a Spellemann (Norwegian Grammy) in 1985.
Wasserman is a prolific songwriter and has written lyrics for popular songs such as "Everyone Needs A Friend," "Tell Me Where You're Going," and "Moving Time." He was awarded TONOs EDVARDpris for Lyrics in 2016. Wasserman's musical philosophy is that good music cannot be contained in genres.
