Jenn Clemena

Jenn Clemena is a San Francisco-based multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter. Starting at the age of 13, she taught herself how to play the guitar and learned everything by ear. Immersing herself in eclectic genres such as Gospel, Funk, and Jazz, she credits the work of artists like Stevie Wonder, Al Green, and Bobby Caldwell for inspiring her dynamic style of playing and songwriting.

As soon as Jenn mastered her craft, she joined the band of her local church to be the lead guitarist alongside her dad who was the keyboardist. In 2015, Jenn decided to spread her talent by taking it to the streets, performing around bustling San Francisco areas like Powell Street Bart Station and Pier 39:

"Busking is one of the most humbling experiences I've ever had as a musician. I would encourage any artist to try busking at least once in their life. It’s fulfilling but I also believe it’s a rite of passage for any musician who wants to explore their craft."

An artist who does not shy away from her own identity, Jenn writes songs that are based on the experiences of being a part of the LGBTQ community while also growing up in a religious family. As a result, she describes the songs she writes as emotional, ambient, and deep, yet simple, smooth, and soulful.

Clearly, Jenn is an artist who speaks truth through her artistry. Her music is cathartic, genuine, and inspiring. It is the hope that the authenticity of her work can provide both entertainment and healing.
