JERYCHO is a vocal ensemble exploiting the traditional idiom of sacred chant. The group performs historical Polish and Latin chants with the use of an improvised polyphony and ornamentation. By creating a new musical space for its early music repertoire, Jerycho realize the vision of a living tradition of the Polish chant sung until the 19th century. The group was founded in 2013 by Bartosz Izbicki, musicologist and organist (disciple of the Rev. Prof. Jerzy Pikulik and of Marcel Pérès), who has occupied himself in Polish tradition of the plainchant, liturgical monody, and hymn for more than twenty years.
