Jess Floam is a Seattle-based alt-pop artist and voice actor whose controlled, expressive vocals blend dreamy tones with riot grrl energy. With a voice that glides from dreamy to fierce and raw, Jess crafts songs that hit both the heart and the gut. Often described as “alt ethereal,” her music is built on dynamic vocal delivery and emotionally honest storytelling.

Jess was drawn to music from a young age. Her mom was a classically trained pianist from Kyiv, and her dad sang in a southern rock band inspired by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Raised on the shores of Lake Tahoe, she began formal piano lessons at age 8 before joining the school band, where she played saxophone and captained the drumline. But her most powerful instrument has always been her voice.

Accompanied most often by her ukulele, Jess radiates feel-good energy wherever she performs. Since launching her original music in 2020, Jess has made waves as a Semi-Finalist in YouTube’s Next Top Singer 2023 and a winner of Best Track and Best Vocals in the Game of Bands songwriting competition.

Jess draws theatrical inspiration from Freddie Mercury and David Bowie, and embraces the playful weirdness that’s always been part of her artistic voice. She’s never lost her love of the silly, the sincere, or the surreal—and that joy shines through in her live performances, especially when she sings anime and video game music at conventions. Fans may also recognize her as the voice of the Dorm Room Cat Girl.
