Jess Wildes

Jessica Dru Webster known professionally as Jess Wildes, is an American singer-songwriter. Wildes’ music is noted for its orchestral, cinematic style with heavy percussion and romantic themes. Her style and artistry often reflects her love of classic literature, old Hollywood and vintage glamour.
Wildes creates her sound by digitally mixing beats; favoring classical strings mixed with modern percussion, synths, accompanied by live instruments to produce an eclectic sound. Her sound is often categorized as ‘dream pop’ or ‘cinematic rock’ genre. Wildes vocal range is that of a mezzo soprano and she often intentionally leaves vocals unfiltered. She believes this sound is raw and real and leaves the music as authentic as it can be.
Lyrics are all written by Wildes and are all based on life experiences including heartbreak and loss. Wildes grew up in upstate New York, and attended Savannah College of Art and Design on a presidential scholarship. While there, she played softball and pitched for the university. She has written songs since she was a teenager, was involved in several chorus/vocal groups, orchestra and plays the violin. Some of her musical influences include Nirvana, Karen Carpenter, Frank Sinatra, Dolly Parton, The Doors, Aerosmith, Ella Fitzgerald, Radiohead, Madonna and Motown.
