Originally from Springfield, IL, Jesse W. Johnson grew up listening to his parents cassette tapes of Genesis and Don Henley while dancing around the dining room table in his underwear. After falling in love with the idea of songwriting through the Beatles, Jesse decided to pick up a guitar after seeing a CSNY concert in 2000. Since then, he's toured all across the US and Canada, plus released 8 albums and EPs both as a solo artist and with his bands Post Historic and <a href="spotify:artist:4r4ar7H3zommhSR87ETIFo" data-name="JET W. LEE">JET W. LEE</a>.
In 2021, Jesse launched a new band called <a href="spotify:artist:6C46XLbWal9BR9W4NbcveH" data-name="Dreamjacket">Dreamjacket</a> with longtime friends/bandmates Dane Marcussen (drums), <a href="spotify:artist:3Iwk3SH3ViIMfznGD8lG0N" data-name="Yoo Soo Kim">Yoo Soo Kim</a> (viola, synth, vocals), and Timothy Cap (bass, vocals). They're also occasionally joined by Bradley Bergstrand (guitar, vocals) and Gretchen Bergstrand (vocals) from <a href="spotify:artist:76JrH9do0L6ezDGUIVqb0V" data-name="Coed Pageant">Coed Pageant</a>, who feature heavily on the upcoming debut album. Dreamjacket released their first single <a href="spotify:album:2FojhVIy9hvW9pHUN5Uw0q" data-name="Cannon Rows">Cannon Rows</a> a re-imagined version of Jesse’s solo acoustic song, on 4/20/21.
