JIGS

Experimenting with electronic music since the age of twelve, Dutch DJ/producer JIGS, real name Gijs van Leeuwen, was sold on creating his own sound. Combining music with technology he is now set to show his sound to the world.


In his early days JIGS developed his musicality thanks to piano lessons, followed by playing the drums. Always intrigued by the sounds the instruments produced rather than the theory being it, he was driving his teachers to despair.


Discovering a passion for combining music with technology, his strong intrinsic motivation led him towards the creation of his own unique sound. A sound that allows him to tell a story within his tracks.


In 2017, JIGS established a music production program in Amsterdam. However, one year later he came to the realization that his heart lies within working on his own productions. And work is what he puts into that, producing day and night to create just the right sound.


After winning the regional finals and playing the national final of the DJ contest from Kunstbende in 2018, his talent wasn’t left unnoticed. With peers in the music industry picking up his talent, he released his first remix on STMPD RCRDS, Martin Garrix’s label.


With an enormous drive and enthusiasm, JIGS is well on his way to show the world what he’s capable of. One thing is for certain; he is only just getting started.
