As with many musicians and songwriters, I started from humble beginnings listening to my parent's music which included Duane Eddy, Lynn Anderson, and my brother's Beatles albums. I started writing songs when I was about 9 or 10 years old, imagining many love scenes and predicaments. I learned to play the guitar when my sister left for college and left her acoustic at home. I begged for an electric guitar and amp and soon had one. I have been a professional entertainer and songwriter for decades and my first CD, The Builder was recorded in Salt Lake City, Utah. I moved to Nashville in the late 90's and have had such a rich life here. I've opened shows for Ty England, Tracy Lawrence, Dan Seals and JoDee Messina. I have collaborated with Walter Egan, Don Wayne, John Carter Cash, Brandy Clark, Jimmy Payne and Danny Dill. I've enjoyed the writing community in Nashville since moving here!
My first songwriters round I put together at the Broken Spoke included Walter Egan, Irene Kelly and Dave Gillon. My love of recording has produced 8 CDs to date and Haunted HIghway was named "Best Americana Album" by JPFolks in 2020. I play the guitar, electric and acoustic, bass, piano and harmonica. I enjoy performing for seniors, and with my band. In 2021 I am endeavoring in a new Duo called Sissel/Reid.
