Jim Kroft is a British musician, filmmaker, and podcaster based in Berlin. His work spans independently released albums, award-winning documentaries, photojournalism, and humanitarian efforts.
Arriving in Berlin in 2007, Jim joined the Tacheles Arts Community, playing a residency until its closure. His 2012 single Memoirs from the Afterlife gained traction on German radio, leading to a major label deal with EMI.
In 2014, Jim launched the Journeys project, traveling through China, East Africa, Russia, and Europe to explore cultures and human connections, resulting in EPs and documentaries like The White Arrow.
Jim co-directed The March of Hope in 2016, a documentary about refugees in Europe, which won 10 Best Documentary Awards and screened at 50+ festivals worldwide. His humanitarian work includes fundraising for Sea Watch, collaborating with ECCHR, and leading relief missions for SOS Ukraine.
In 2023, Jim launched The Jim Kroft Podcast, interviewing founders and creatives to inspire solopreneurs navigating the intersection of art and business.
In 2024, he joined Berlin’s Mahalla Arts Community, where he developed new material and worked as a filmmaker. In 2025, Jim is releasing 12 new songs throughout the year.
His work embodies his belief in the unifying power of storytelling and creativity.
