Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun return after 8 year hiatus with ‘Medicine’.
The bands first offering from forthcoming album ‘Colour’ due in 2022, sets the scene for their most ambitious effort to date.

‘Medicine’ is an admission of feeling powerless; of trying to gain perspective, in the calm before the storm. ‘You and I will never know why, we had it all and let it go’

If the band’s critically acclaimed ‘Death’ (2012, Xtra Mile Recordings) was concerned with the end, ‘Colour’ is a narration of everything that comes after. It’s a break up record, with hope and ambition.

Focussed on prominent occurrences in Lockey’s life after ‘Death’ the album discusses the thoughts and feelings he’s most at war with.

Turn the clock back 8 years and JL&TSS are one of the hardest working bands in the UK.

After signing with Xtra Mile Recordings (Frank Turner, Against Me!) ‘Death’ was the big introduction the band needed picking up support across Radio 1, XFM, 6 Music and Kerrang across the 5 singles released, including Zane Lowe’s Next Hype accolade (England’s Dead), introducing track of the week (A Song About Death) and a Maida Vale live session. Elsewhere they received Single of the Week at Kerrang Radio (New Natives) and Exposure with John Kennedy at XFM.
