Jim Penfold & The Hollywood Killers

Jim Penfold.... founder, frontman and songwriter for English cult band the Hollywood Killers. Formed in Hastings in the 1970&#39;s with school friend Neil &#39;Chilli Willi&#39; Aplin. 2nd single &#39;Goodbye Suicide&#39; gained airplay on BBC&#39;s John Peel show and in 1979 punk band The Boys covered Jim&#39;s &#39;Waiting For The Lady&#39; on their album To Hell With The Boys. In the early 80&#39;s Jim and Neil relocated to London with new line-up and became very popular on the live circuit. Jim released a solo single &#39;Killer On The Dancefloor&#39; (as the Speedos) on EMI in 1981 (producer Mike Hurst) and in 1982 the band released &#39;Butterfly&#39; (producer Mike Vernon) and recorded BBC Radio 1 In Concert. After record label problems the band disbanded in 1984 and Jim continued with various solo and band ventures recording with various top producers inc Tony Visconti (Teenage Dream/Paradise) 1984. Released various singles and albums over the years inc &#39;Hole In My Room&#39;/Jim Penfold &amp; The Hollywood Killers (1989) ... &#39;Million Miles&#39;/Hollywood Killers ep 2003 .... &#39;Timebomb&#39;/Jim Penfold &amp; The Hollywood Killers 2005 ... &#39;Fruitcake volume 1&#39;/Jim Penfold 2018 .... &#39;Groovy Music Project&#39;/Jim Penfold 2020. In 2007 Jim wrote and performed the title track for Charley Boorman&#39;s TV series &#39;Race To Dakar&#39; ......&#64;jimpenfold &#64;hollywoodkillers ...
